How to Choose the Right Colors?

Choosing the right color for your project is very important. Even if the paint job is done very professionally, the wrong choice of color can ruin the final product. I learnt this early on in my career. My favorite color is blue. Early in my career when one of my clients asked to paint an accent wall for them dark blue I was happy to do so. Why did it look so ugly after? Instead of the color pulling me in and inviting me to look at the wall longer, my eyes wanted to look away. It was in this moment I began to notice, not all blues are good blues. This caused me to do more research. I wanted to help consult clients so they would not choose the wrong colors. This does not mean I have to share the same taste as my client, but not every shade of a color is a good shade of a color.
This is most obvious when you go into a paint store and there are hundreds of colors with hundreds of different names. New colors with new names constantly emerging. That is because not every color lasts the test of time. Companies try new colors and discard old colors. But some colors do make it past the test of time.
This is why I like to recommend Benjamin Moores Historical Line. All these colors are colors that have triumphed the test of time. Colors that Great Grandma, Great Grandpa , Grandpa, Grandma, Mom,Dad, and even your kids all enjoy. These colors are generally a safe bet when choosing a color, very rarely can you go wrong.
We all have different tastes, but some things the majority of us do agree on, some colors just do not work and some do, that is why paint stores get rid of some colors and some colors they do not.
